NEWS

27 March 2008

We're still around!  Updates to the main web site have been few and far between in the last year, but we're still producing pedals on a limited basis.  The main changes are a few small price increases, and a longer delivery time.  My schedule these days is very hectic and I can only do pedals a couple of days per week now.  Right now delivery on a new pedal is running about two weeks.

We're currently still offering the Class-A Boost (Plus and Micro,) Echo Jr., and Switcher 2 as regular items.  We can make a few of the older pedals (Sweet Cheetah 2, Magnolia +.)

We are no longer making the Jubilee pedals with the footswitchable effects loop.  We can do them without the loop ($189.99) or we have the new Jubilee Jr. which is the same circuit but with only a Tone knob instead of the 3-band tone stack of the regular pedal.  The Jubilee Jr. goes for $149.99, same as the Class-A Boost Plus (same style enclosure as well.)

Thanks to all our customers for your support and patience.

20 March 2007

Thanks to my web hosting company, all kinds of email weirdness has been happening.  If you've emailed in the last 2 weeks or so, please try again.  Chances are I never received it or it ended up in a spam folder somewhere.

I'm busy with a big order of Echo Jr. pedals, and after that I'll be finishing up the first batch of the EchoMega, the new digital echo pedal.  This is the real deal, a more fully-featured digital echo pedal with several modes including reverb and a cool cascading delay that mimics an old multi-head tape echo.  I'll be putting it up when it's finished, and the first bunch is already sold.  After I get them done, then I'll be taking limited orders for them.

OLD NEWS

6 December 2006 - Back in town

I've been out of touch for a little over a week, so here's what's going on:  Our shipment of pedal boxes and footswitches arrived finally, so the last of the pending orders is going out this week.  If you've got something on order with us, it should be leaving the shop by Friday.

For 2007, we're going to be discontinuing some pedals.  Actually, we're discontinuing most of the pedals!  We'll still make the Class-A Boost and the Switcher 2, and there will be a new version of the Echo Jr., but everything else is going out.  The cost of keeping all the extra parts on hand just in case someone wants something is too much for now.

The good news is that we have a couple of new boxes on the way for '07.  The redesigned Echo Jr. is the first one, with 3 echo modes (Echo, Cascade, Reverb,) and we have a prototype multi-modulation pedal in the works as well.  Stay tuned for info on these as we get closer to the New Year.

10 June 2006 - Jubilee Page online!

The page for the Jubilee Silver Overdrive is online, with a picture and description.  We still have a few Echo Jr. Blems in stock as well.

1 June 2006 - Echo Jr. BLEMs are back, limited supply.

We have 9 more Echo Jr. BLEM pedals, available in our online store.  These are better than the last 5 we had in terms of printing, but they do have some flaws.  We should also be getting in the first batch of Echo Jr.s in the brighter red (not the blood red like the ones we have right now.)  Jubilee pedals will be on the site by the weekend as well.  The Jubilee is a British-sounding overdrive with a 3-band tone stack and a built-in switchable effects loop.  More details this week!

25 May 2006 - Echo Jr. BLEMs are gone! -- Class-A Jr.s available now!

Thanks to all our customers who bought up the blem Echo Jr.s!  All the blems are gone, but first-quality Echo Jr.s are on sale in the online store.  Blem Echo Echo pedals are coming soon, so stay tuned!  We also have a few Class-A Jr. pedals (in red and brushed aluminum) available on the online store page.  There are some details and pictures on the Class-A Boost Plus page.

19 May 2006 - ONLINE STORE PAGE OPERATIONAL!

Now customers can purchase selected pedals and accessories directly from us using Visa / MC / PayPal.  Please visit our online store page here!

17 May 2006 - * BLEM * Echo Jr. pedals in stock!

The first batch of Echo Jr.s is back from the paint shop, and we have a few that aren't ready for prime-time, cosmetically speaking.  Some have paint chips, but most just have bad silkscreening.  They are powder coated in Blood Red, and look phenomenal, but the printing is a little bit off, so we're selling them off at a discount.  The Echo Jr. page now has pictures of one of the blems, but we'll put up some good pics soon.

May 2006 - Pedal Availability

We're currently in the middle of a large order for one of our distributors.  This has caused us to become somewhat backed up on direct orders, but we're working through it.  The new Echo Echo Double Delay and Jubilee Silver Overdrive pedals are coming soon, and we'll have pics and sound samples up as soon as we can.  We have gotten a lot of requests for some of the older (discontinued) pedals, and so we're going to be making them in limited quantities.  We're currently making the following pedals:

REGULAR STOCK - Class-A Boost Plus, Class-A Boost Jr., Echo Jr., Magnolia Plus, Switcher 2

LIMITED EDITIONS - Uptown 2, Sweet Cheetah 2, Monument

We're not making the Tone Engine any more, and don't ask about the Princess Clang...  No, don't even think about it.

24 February 2005 - Rivera-type Fender Footswitches in stock!

To all our customers waiting on these footswitches, we have a limited number in stock ready for shipment.  We're doing another run of them the first week of March, and hope to be able to keep a few on hand at all times.  Check them out HERE.

22 February 2005 - Echo Jr. Page updated!

No photos yet, sorry, but the Echo Jr. has been updated.  Description, sound samples, and .PDF manual are all online, so jump on in and check it out!

February 2005-  New Pedals From Pharaoh!

The Class-A Boost pedal receives a major update with the introduction of the Class-A Boost PLUS!  The Class-A Boost PLUS features the same great boost pedal, famous for its natural sound and clarity, and adds a Line Driver output stage.  This new output stage gives the Class-A Boost PLUS the ability to drive long cable runs and can help decrease noise from your pedal setup caused by impedance mismatching.  The Class-A Boost PLUS (and all Pharaoh Amps pedals manufactured from 2005) also uses a new heavier-duty 3PDT footswitch for true bypass + LED.

The Magnolia PLUS pedal is another new addition to the Pharaoh Amps lineup.  The Magnolia PLUS uses the same unique drive / blend control as the Magnolia Classic Overdrive, but now includes a High Voltage Amplifier circuit for better headroom and reduced noise.  The Magnolia PLUS can now go from great clean boost to gritty overdrive and all points in between.

The Echo Jr. completes the new additions for 2005.  This compact vintage delay pedal features digital reliability and analog sound!  True bypass switching and analog style "runaway" repeats make this a great alternative to fragile, pricy vintage delay pedals.

January 2005-  Pharaoh Amplifiers Featured In Guitar Effects Handbook!

Pharaoh Amplifiers was recently featured in Dave Hunter's new book, Guitar Effects: The Practical Handbook, published by Backbeat Books!  Pictures and descriptions of the Sweet Cheetah 2 and original Rodeo Drive are on page 122, along with a short description of our other boxes.  It's a great read, even if you're not a pedal junkie - pick up a copy today!
